The New Hervey Bay Community Centre fosters innovative partnerships and unique services that benefit the people of Hervey Bay. It is a five star environmental building, designed in consideration of Hervey Bay's natural environment and climate, and to capture prevailing breezes and harness natural light. It therefore minimize's operating costs for organisations.  The Community Centre represents a unique partnership between all three levels of government, community based organisations, the University of Southern Queensland and the community at large. It maximises resources that already exist in the community and provides locum rooms for regionally based services while ensuring the viability of programs and services in a rapidly growing community with no infrastructure. The Community Centre provides the following facilities and services to visiting community organisations, regular tenants and or ad-hoc hirers:
The New Community Centre for Hervey Bay is located on the land donated by the Fraser Coast Regional Council on the corner of Charles Street and the extension of Torquay Road. |
The Hervey Bay Community Centre is a facility of approximately 1724m2 which provides a community meeting place as well as housing twenty existing programs and services presently operating in Hervey Bay doing so accessibly, economically and appropriately.
