  • The new Hervey Bay Community Centre will showcase Joint Partnership in major infrastructure provision: Local, State and Federal Governments havePartners with community and the University to achieve this goal.
  • It represents a significant contribution to the ongoing viability of key Human Services in Hervey Bay as community based human service organisations are able to be successfully housed in the new Hervey Bay Community Centre. Resources will be maximised and money previously expended on infrastructure can be moved into program delivery.
  • The New Community Centre is a major landmark and visible focus for community infrastructure. This significantly contributes to the development of a 'City Heart' for the high growth community of Hervey Bay and revitalisation of the Pialba precinct.
  • Ongoing provision of quality services in an environment that is accessible to all people.
  • Employment - through construction & in service provision. Professional staff and tradesman were utilised in the building of the new facility. The best possible staff continue to be recruited and employed in the Human Services Sector, in keeping with the policies and procedures of the resident organisations.
  • Economy achieved through sharing and rationalisation of resources.
  • A much needed community meeting space of reasonable proportions (meeting space which can accommodate up to 150 is is included in the facility).
  • Opportunities for self reliance for services (through hiring out of rooms/offices,catering,etc.)

  • Anonymity for clients attending services.
